[ Hypnos will appear at her place. It's an assumption that she's home, sure. So he has prepared a backup plan to indicate he'll find a better time to come over. Just a single blue Peony in his hands and a note tucked into his pocket. He's dressed properly - well, as properly as he gets. Relaxed fit black slacks and a button up tee that is a little loose on him.

He knocks.

Because he wasn't going to keep her waiting too long. ]

[She answers the door, peeking carefully around it as she isn't expecting a visitor. Somehow, she isn't surprised to see Hypnos on the step.

Her cheeks flush with immediate pleasure at seeing him and she pulls the door open, smiling brightly.]

Did you get dressed up for me again? [It's sweet. She likes it. Jane is in a long, loose brown skirt and a white blouse, her hair half tied back.] I was just cleaning up, but uhm... you can come in if you'd like.

[ He's happy to see her, and he's happy she's home. Because he has thought about it his whole walk (yes, walk) over. He wants a kiss, yes, but he mostly wants a date and he wants to do it right. He wants to do it right because he does like her.

He steps in after her and nods. ]

Well, a bit. I'm just trying not to look like I rolled out of bed.

[ He looks around. And - wait, what was he here for? His mind blanks out for a moment on all things he went over on making this right and instead he asks: ]

If you're busy, I can wait. I don't mind. Or - help.

[ He doesn't offer to help much. He doesn't want to disrupt what she's doing to ask her. ]

[Jane chuckles. She'd seen how he was dressed at the tournaments and expects that that is how he usually dresses, and it is terribly sweet that he's making such an effort to look nice for her. That she's managed to make such an impression is enough to provoke a small flutter in the pit of her stomach.]

Mm... all right. You can dry the dishes while I wash them.

[And with that, she takes him to the kitchen where there's a small stack of dishes half-washed. She tosses Hypnos a towel without much thought as to the fact she's currently requesting that a god dry the dishes.

He wants to be treated like a normal person, though, right?]

Stand just there. And-- [She spots the flower, and smiles.] Is that for me?

Alright.

[ He's never dried a dish in his life, but he's going to do his absolute best. And while it seems like it might be a rather repetitive task if he were doing it on his own, standing here with her doesn't seem like it'd be so bad. They can talk, even. He accepts the towel in one hand and holds up the blue peony in another.

There's a brief flush and a -- nervous? Yes, nervous, sound. It was brief before he tried to refocus. ]

Yes. I thought it might be a good option. You know? It works if you're not home and if you are. So I wanted to have it - to be proper.

[ Whoah, he's -- fumbling over it. It's not like it takes a lot of words to find the right ones to ask someone on a date that you genuinely, really like. Not really. But he sure doesn't know what those right words are right now. ]

It's -- [ he's trying to find them ] I just really do like you. And spending time with you. And for once I really care about doing something right.

It's lovely.

[She takes the flower delicately and, in the absence of anywhere else to put it at the moment, tucks the stem carefully behind her ear. Jane is smiling, faintly flushed with what he say to her as her mind races across the sheer impropriety of it and how she would undoubtedly be ostracised within society back home for dating...

But she isn't at home, and she can do anything she likes here... and what she wants to do is this.]

I like you, too. [Jane looks up at him with a bright smile. She really does like him, she thinks, and if the way her thoughts have been obsessing over him since their last date is anything to go by, she likes him a great deal.] This isn't what I expected at all... but I'm happy.

[Happy to have his attention. That he wants to spend time with her, even if it's just like this.]

So there's no need to be nervous.

[ He thinks maybe it's not just nerves, but when he considers it, it probably is. Yeah - it definitely is. It explains why even simple words escape him. ]

I mean, maybe not. But it's also -- it's very new.

[ So it's been a lot of people watching or trying to figure it out by engaging with her directly. And his desire for once to really do something right. And he's never been nervous in his life before. He wasn't even last time he had messaged her asking. Because he walked in with the assumption that she wouldn't want to anyway.

Well, now is as good as time as any, right? ]

Well, I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies with me on a date, Jane. And, after the movie, we can get something to eat.

[ Well - at least he's out with it. ]

That sounds wonderful.

[And she passes him a plate to dry as she answers, flushing pink in spite of all efforts to ensure she doesn't. There's not much to be done about such a natural reaction.]

I'd love to do that with you. [And that had been very well done considering how nervous he'd seemed about it. She looks up again and her heart does a little jump in her chest. She had said...

But he's very tall.]

You're going to have to lean down.

Hypnos has to momentarily reboot because part of him didn't realize it was for real real. But, he has an idea that he think will be nice. ]

Oh yeah - I --

[ He leans, a little, but then Jane will feel herself being lifted gently and slowly being lifted as he uses small bits of kinetic magic to get her off of the ground. Just closer moment by moment. ]
