She unhooks her arm from around his shoulders but lets her hands stay there as he sets her feet back on the floor, lightly trailing them down to his chest when the height difference becomes more pronounced.]
Oh-- Hmm. [Abruptly, she realises what she's doing with her hands and lets them drop, a light flush rising to her cheeks.]
[ He sets her down gently, easily. He leans a little so he can kiss her forehead, moving a hand gently over her hair. He doesn't seem to mind the gentle, easy touches from her that almost feel like they're second nature. There's something to appreciate about just doing something because you wanted to at that time, with little hesitation. If anything, his smile is clear indication that he seems to like this. ]
That's good. It was a risk I wanted to take.
[ And he figures she'd have said something at the time, but he's still glad he knows that she doesn't. ]
I think I agreed to help with some dishes, yeah?
[ As much as he'd like to just stand here and give and get kiss upon kiss -- He did offer. ]

[And then she plunges her hands into the water, keeping her head down so he - hopefully - can't see how red she's gone.]

He takes the towel, glancing sideways at her so he can help doing as he was initially instructed, helping dry the dishes, and going to be careful about it all since he doesn't want to make mistakes. ]

[She passes him another plate to try off as she thinks about what she's saying. Jane doesn't think it's going to be insulting, but still...]

[With the plate handed over she picks up a glass and dunks it into the water, washing that too.] It feels very big to me, to think about that, and... I think I'd prefer to know you as a person.
[But she has a feeling that other people may not see him that way if they know his background, and she supposes... she just wants to reassure him that she has no intentions of treating him like a god.
Though she thinks that he's quite happy with that.]
[ How is he meant to react to such a compliment. Well, he smiles, blushes a little, and he feels words catch in his throat for a minute. He glances towards her. If he had his hoodie, he think he might try to disappear into it. ]

[She does notice that he doesn't deflect her compliment. She had called him out on it rather bluntly before and it does warm her a little to realise that he'd listened. He deserves to hear nice things, she thinks, and to be able to believe them when he hears them without trying to make a joke out of it.
Jane hands him up the last plate and drains the water from the sink, then grabs a towel of her own to dry her hands.]
There, that's all done. Um... would you like something to drink? We can sit down and talk.
[ He's gentle when he dries the plate, and quietly wipes and pats it dry to ensure that it is fully dried and watches her for a moment as he does. It's hard to resist, though. And he's sure he'll slip up sometime, but the moment has passed without flaw so he can be happy about it for now. ]
Oh - yeah. Thanks. I'd like to sit and talk. But if I get too bothersome, just tell me to go away. It always works with me.
[ Far be it for him to overstay his welcome in her house. ]

It makes her skin tingle to be so close by him, but she's in a mood to push her own boundaries at the moment (as if she hadn't done that already).]

[Jane clears her throat softly, leaning her shoulder against his arm.]
You might kiss me any time you like. I won't mind at all.
[ It gives him butterflies, having her sit that close to him. He's happy to have her nearby and in his bubble because she's -- well, she's Jane. He likes her. He's going on another date with her. It's exciting. She says it and only about half of his brain processes the words and he flushes a little at them. ]

[ He's -- going to have to do that, then, he thinks. He's not great at taking initiative, and never has been. He's always just gone with things to see how they go. But seeing Jane's face makes him want to kiss her. He wants to be close to her. He likes her. She's helped motivate him in some ways, too. ]

[She does flush pink when she says that, but it comes out quite boldly regardless. She likes to be kissed, so surprised that happen to be kisses shouldn't be too bad at all.]
