[Jane is heading to the springs for a different reason, though 'sting' still comes into it. As she walks in with a modest bathing suit on and a towel wrapped around her hips the reason is evident in the angry nettle stings around her ankles.
Nothing had worked on them so far, and the water might give them some relief at least.
She doesn't really notice the girl at first - why would someone else not be using the place? - but as she catches sight of her out of the corner of her eye she can't quite help but blurt out--]
