But the thought of having that sort of intimacy with Jane - it's something he has thought that he'd want with her eventually. It's not that it's a big deal where he's from, being what he is, but he's also -- it's not like he's had many chances. And his family isn't exactly known for intimacy.
The question surprises him less than he thought it would. He simply blinks and moves a hand up to settle on her cheek, fingers shifting to move through her hair. ]
